Officers are appealing for information, witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision in Borehamwood yesterday (Wednesday 17 April).
At around 3.50pm, a three year boy and a white Vauxhall Combo van were involved in a collision in Shenley Road.
The incident happened close to the bus stop outside McDonalds.
The boy sustained a serious head injury and a separate member of the public was also injured.
PC Ryan Moore, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Thankfully the boy’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening but he remains in hospital for now.
“The boy and his mother had just got off at the bus stop shortly before the collision happened. We are trying to piece together what happened next and I would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information.
“If you were driving in the area and have a dash cam fitted, please check it and get in contact if you spot anything that could help.
“Please email me (opens in a new window) quoting ISR 459 of 17 April.”
