Hertfordshire Constabulary welcomed five new communications operators who join a busy Force Communications Room (FCR), where they will be part of a team who respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, webchat and online crime reports around the clock 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
On Friday (19 April), family and friends attended a graduation ceremony at police headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, where the group were presented with certificates to mark the completion of their intensive training. One of the graduates was unable to make the ceremony.
FCR Detective Chief Inspector Ben Freeman, said: “Best of luck to all of you as you embark on your new career. You’ll be the first voice a person hears when they call us in their time of need, and I know you’ll do your best to support them through whatever situation faces them. This is a rewarding role and one where you’ll make a real difference to our communities in Hertfordshire.”
