It was reported that at around midday on Tuesday 6 August a man was working on a vehicle in Salters, when a dog approached and bit him on the leg, causing injury.
He asked a male who was with the dog for his details, but he refused and walked off.
The dog is described as white, with black and brown markings.
The male is described as being of a mixed ethnic background, around 6ft tall, with dreadlocks and was wearing jogging bottoms. He was with two other males.
Anyone who saw the incident, or has information about who the owner may be, is asked to please contact PCSO Mark Rippon by email.
