More than 100 Christmas hampers have been delivered to children in Ware and Stanstead Abbotts, following an appeal by the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).
The hampers were put together thanks to generous donations from officers, Ware Town Council, members of the public and local businesses.
They contain a selection of toys and treats, to help bring a little extra cheer to those who might need it this festive season.
Officers have been out and about over the past week, delivering them to 110 children at primary and secondary schools across the area.
PCSO Kristine Ward, from the NPT, said: “It’s always so heart-warming to see the level of support we get from the local community for this project, and this year has been no exception.
“As a result of people’s overwhelming generosity, we’ve also been able to donate hampers to secondary school children for the first time this year.
“On behalf of the team, I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the appeal, including members of the local community, Ware Town Council, Tesco and Keith Ian Estate Agents, who also acted as a collection point for donations.
“We wish you all a peaceful Christmas and a very happy new year.”
