The Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) hosted a successful bike marking event on Saturday (10 February).
Residents could bring along their bicycles to Welwyn Garden City police station to get free security marking.
Bike-marking takes just a few seconds and is highly recommended by police. When a bike is security marked it becomes easier to trace if it is ever lost or stolen.
Between 20-30 bikes were security marked on Saturday.
PC Molly Woodard, from the NPT, said: “We were pleased to be able to provide this service to local residents and I hope all those who came along now have peace of mind that they are better protected from bike thieves.
“If you couldn’t make the events, we recommend that you register your bike (opens in a new window). This is a national database which will make it easier to find your bike if it is ever lost or stolen.”
