A car used for takeaway food delivery was seized in Hatfield by the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team on Monday evening (29 January).
Police spotted a Peugeot 107 contravening a road traffic sign in Comet Way by carrying out a U-turn. The driver was also on their mobile phone.
The officers stopped the vehicle and carried out checks which found that the car had no business insurance.
PC Jo Witkiewicz, from the Welwyn Hatfield NPT, said: “This should be a lesson to all drivers who are using their vehicles for business purposes. You must have business cover insurance or you may also find your vehicle being towed away.
“Mobile phone use at the wheel is never acceptable. Since March 2022, it has been illegal to use your phone for other purposes/reasons such as looking through playlists – not just taking calls. Please do not be tempted as you are risking the safety of other innocent road users.”
