A Harpenden couple received a ‘Warm in Winter’ gift bag from PCSOs Alex Peduto and Sam Leyden this week.
A Harpenden couple received a ‘Warm in Winter’ gift bag from PCSOs Alex Peduto and Sam Leyden this week.
The bags have been provided by the Small Acts of Kindness charity and contain items to help anyone aged over 55 who may be cold or vulnerable in their own home this winter.
They include a fleece blanket, thermal hat, socks, gloves, soup, porridge, a hot drinks pack and a mug, as well as an information pack about services, support and activities for older people.
Officers have been handing out the bags at community engagement events in the St Albans district as well as directly to people’s homes.
PCSO Peduto said: “We were pleased to deliver these bags, which are a real lifeline for some people in this extremely cold weather.”
