Police are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage following a fatal road traffic collision on the A1m near Hatfield last night (Friday 5 July).
The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway, between junctions 3 and 4, at just after 9.05pm.
A green Jaguar F Type was reportedly travelling through the Hatfield tunnel when it crossed the carriageway and collided with the central reservation.
A woman aged in her 60s sadly passed away at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
Sergeant Alex Ward, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances around what happened. We are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision, or who saw the vehicle travelling in the area prior to it, to please come forward.
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured dash cam footage.
“If you can help, please get in touch. Thank you.”
