Police are trying to trace the rightful owner of a set of medals which were recovered in Hertsmere over the weekend.
The medals were discovered after officers arrested a man in Borehamwood.
Investigator Charlotte Hartley, from the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit, said: “It is believed that the medals have been stolen but, despite initial enquiries, we have been unable to locate a potential owner.
“I suspect they will be of great sentimental value to someone and would love to be able to return them. If you think you know who they may belong to, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to please contact Investigator Hartley via email.
You can also report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
The arrested man has been bailed while further enquiries are carried out.
