A man has been jailed for multiple crimes after being arrested in Welwyn Garden City.
Michael Forbes, 37, of no fixed abode, was sentenced to two years in prison on Friday 10 May.
He was arrested after officers spotted him acting suspiciously in Elliot Close on Friday 17 November. During the arrest he assaulted a police officer.
Forbes pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a knife blade/sharp-pointed article in a public place, assaulting an emergency worker and going equipped for theft. He was cleared of making use of/attempting to make use of a firearm with intent to resist arrest.
Sergeant Paul Saunders, who investigated, said: “I hope this sentencing provides reassurance to the local community.
“We are committed to making sure Welwyn Hatfield is a safe place and we will continue working hard to find criminals and bring them to justice.”
