Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit (RPU) are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Bishop’s Stortford.
The incident occurred on Northgate End at around 1.15pm on Monsay 10 June. A silver Toyota Yaris Excel left the road, for reasons unknown at this time, and collided with the Domino’s Pizza building.
Officers from the RPU, along with local officers attended the scene with colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Road closures were put in place at around 1.26pm and remained in place for over three hours while emergency services responded to the incident.
A 75-year-old man was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital for further treatment, where he remains in a stable but critical condition.
Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances around the collision and officers from the RPU are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
Sergeant Tim Davies said: “I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident, to get in touch with any information. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have captured dash cam footage.
“No matter how insignificant you think the information is, it could still support our ongoing investigation.”
If you saw the collision or saw the vehicle travelling in the area prior to it, please report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 331 of 10 June, 2024.
If you have dash cam footage, please upload this via our portal.
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
