A man has sadly passed away following a road traffic collision in Bishop’s Stortford.
Officers are re-appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage.
The incident occurred on Northgate End at around 1.15pm on Monday 10 June.
A silver Toyota Yaris Excel left the road, for reasons unknown at this time, and collided with the Domino’s Pizza building.
Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit (RPU), attended the scene alongside the East of England Ambulance Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Road closures were put in place at around 1.30pm and remained in place for over three hours while emergency services responded to the incident.
A 75-year-old man was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away the following day.
Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances around the collision and officers from the RPU are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
Sergeant Tim Davies said: “Unfortunately the man has now sadly passed away in hospital. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
“I am re-appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time of the incident, to get in touch with any information. We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Domino’s Pizza store around the time of the incident or those who have captured dash cam footage.
“No matter how insignificant you think the information is, it could still support our ongoing investigation.”
If you saw the collision or saw the vehicle travelling in the area prior to it, please report information online at online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 331 of 10 June, 2024.
If you have dash cam footage, please upload this via the following link.
