Bedwell PCSO Nicky Lewis recently joined local residents on one of the free ‘Health Walks’ currently taking place in the town.
Organised by Hertfordshire County Council, the aim of the walks are to get the community active and connected.
Nicky joined the group trying out the new Bedwell taster walk yesterday (Wednesday 21 March) which lasted 30 minutes and started from the Bedwell Community centre.
A longer walk lasting an hour takes place on Wednesdays and starts at Costello’s Café in Fairlands Valley Park.
“This is a great way to stay active while making new acquaintances,” said Nicky. “It gave me a chance to get out in the community and chat to people and pass on any help or advice that was needed.
“The walks were recently promoted at a meeting about the Build a Better Bedwell project currently running in the area, but are open to anyone. I hope the community will take advantage of these walks, as they are a great way of meeting new people and getting fit.”
More information about the walks can be found on health walks (opens in a new window).
