Officers from the Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team visited the Community Café at St Mary’s Church, Welwyn on Tuesday (27 February).
As part of her community engagement work, PCSO Anne Devine began the morning helping to serve tea and coffee to the attendees. She was then joined by PCs Mitch Cartwright and Reegan Dixon who spent time chatting with the residents and answering any questions they had about their role in the local community.
PCSO Anne Devine said: “We had a brilliant time at the café. Meeting the local community in informal settings like this is an important part of neighbourhood policing as it helps to break down barriers and gives the public confidence to report any problems to the police.”
You can use our community voice platform ‘echo’ to let us know what you think we should be prioritising in your area. Your feedback will help towards shaping our local policing priorities, initiatives and campaigns. Visit Echo (opens in a new window) and tell us your thoughts.
