The Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team are holding two events at John Lewis in March as part of their commitment to tacking retail crime.
Crime prevention stalls will be held in the store on the following dates:
The events form part of the national month of action to tackle retail crime, an initiative introduced by the National Business Crime Centre.
The stalls will be an opportunity for John Lewis staff and other local business owners/retail workers to find out more about how they can keep safe from crimes such as theft and violence against shopworkers.
Whilst there will be a focus on business crime, all local residents are encouraged to come along as the officers will be on hand to answer any questions or address any concerns about local police issues. Residents will also be able to take home leaflets with useful crime prevention advice.
PCSO Emma Carson said: “Retail crime can take many forms from shoplifting and burglary to violence against shopworkers. We recognise that these crimes have a serious impact on the retail community and we work hard all year round to tackle it. The national month of action gives us an opportunity to reinforce that message.
“If you are a business owner or work in retail, make sure to check out the crime prevention advice on our website.”
