Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) in Hertford.
The incident occurred on Fore Street between 3.15am and 3.23am on Sunday 11 February.
The suspect has struck the victim on the head with a metal post, causing the victim to sustain a cut to their head that required hospital treatment.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early twenties and was wearing a black coat with the hood up and balaclava covering most of his face with black trousers.
DC Clare Halfpenny, who is investigating, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident, was in the area at the time or has any information that may help the investigation. If so, please contact me with details by email via [email protected].”
