A man has been sent to jail after pleading guilty to knife offences in Welwyn Garden City.
Tyron Harvey, aged 23 and of Russett Wood in Welwyn Garden City, appeared at Luton Crown Court on Wednesday 6 November.
He received the following sentence, totalling two years and six months in prison:
Harvey had also pleaded guilty to two counts of damaging property and assaulting an emergency worker. He spent time on remand for these offences.
The crimes occurred in Welwyn Garden City in December 2023.
Harvey was arrested on 22 December 2023 and charged the same day while in custody. He has been remanded in prison ever since.
DC Alice Garrett, from the Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit, said: “I hope the public are reassured by this news, especially in light of our recent Sceptre knife campaign. We work hard all year round to tackle knife crime.
“Harvey has been behind bars since he was charged and he will now spend a further two and a half years in prison. This result should be a warning to anyone who thinks it is acceptable to carry a knife.”
