The Stevenage South Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) has recently welcomed a new sergeant to lead the team.
Tim Armstrong has been a police officer for 23 years and has worked across most of the different policing teams, but predominantly in neighbourhood policing and wildlife roles. He became a sergeant in 2023 and since then has worked in Buntingford and the Dangerous Dogs Team.
Prior to joining the Stevenage NPT, Tim headed up the Rural Operational Support Team and has been a dangerous dog advisor for the force.
Commenting on his new role Sgt Armstrong said: “I have been very lucky in my career to have had some very varied and interesting roles, but Neighbourhood Policing has always been my favourite.
“I really enjoy being able to work closely with our communities and tackle issues that are having a negative impact on people’s lives. Much of the work we do focusses on issues which often require long-term policing strategies and working in collaboration with partner agencies.
“I hope to build on the excellent links with the community and local businesses that already exist and am looking to continue to develop our community engagement work and our pro-active operations around drug supply, ASB, burglary, speeding and shop lifting.
“The current priorities for my Stevenage South team are: anti-social vehicle use and drug related crime.
“Please do also let us know about what you think your local officers should focus on in your area,” continued Tim. “You can use our community voice platform ‘echo’ to let us know what you think we should be prioritising. Your feedback will help towards shaping our local policing priorities, initiatives and campaigns. Visit Echo and tell us your thoughts.”
Join our community messaging platform Herts Connected. You will receive free local police messages and Neighbourhood Watch, Action Fraud and the Police and Crime Commissioner if that’s what you choose when you sign up.
