Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a serious assault in Hitchin town centre.
At around 8.30pm on Saturday (28 September) a motorist was travelling along Market Square when he was pulled from his vehicle and assaulted by a pedestrian.
The victim – a man aged in his 40s – suffered a concussion, a broken nose, four fractured ribs and required stitches to a cut on his lip.
The offender is described as a white man, wearing an orange t-shirt, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. Both of his arms are covered with tattoos.
Detective Constable Kathryn Pink, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “This happened on a busy Saturday night in the town centre and I know that several people came to the victim’s aid. If you saw what happened and have not already spoken to police, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
“This is a shocking assault that has left the victim with serious injuries and we are keen to identify the offender quickly.”
