Officers are appealing for information and witnesses following an incident in Watford where a pedestrian walking with his dog was hit by a car and subsequently assaulted.
Between 8.25pm and 8.45pm on Wednesday 25 September the victim was crossing St Albans Road when he was involved in a collision with a car.
There was a subsequent verbal altercation before two men got out of the vehicle and assaulted the man.
It happened close to the junction with Judge Street, near to the Tesco Express store.
Detective Constable Georgia Boyle, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “The victim required treatment for a bleed on his brain, numerous facial fractures and two black eyes. He remains in hospital at this time.
“We have arrested two men in connection with this incident and they have been released on police bail while our investigation continues.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw what happened to please get in touch by emailing me at [email protected].”
