Police are appealing for witnesses and information as part of ongoing enquiries into an attempted robbery in Bishop’s Stortford.
At around 8pm on Wednesday 18 September, a delivery driver was riding a bike along Station Road when a group of five males, all on bicycles, approached him. They shouted at him to get off his bike and then slashed the back of his backpack with sharp object.
The group then made off towards South Street. The victim was not injured during the incident.
The suspects are described as teenage boys, all wearing tracksuits and balaclavas. One boy was riding a white bike, one was riding a blue bike, and the rest were riding dark coloured bikes.
DC Charlotte Bell from the East Herts Local Crime Unit said: “We are currently reviewing CCTV in the area but I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward. The suspects all ran past the train station where there were a lot of cars around so I’m hoping someone saw them or has dash cam footage. If you have any information at all, please get in contact.”
Anyone with information is asked to email DC Charlotte Bell.
You can also report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/78058/24.
If you have dash cam footage in relation to the incident, please upload to DAMS.
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
