Two men were arrested by road policing officers in St Albans - 13 minutes after a Mercedes C63 AMG was stolen without keys from an address in Wood End Lane, Harpenden at 3.47am on 25 September.
Joh-Kiel Belton-McKenzie, aged 21, has been charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles between 30 August 2024 and 25 September 2024 and possession of a bladed article.
Belton-McKenzie has been remanded into custody. He is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday 24 October.
A 17-year-old man from London was also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles between 30 August 2024 and 25 September 2024 and has been released on police bail whilst enquiries continue.
As a result of the arrests, both the stolen Mercedes from Harpenden, and a stolen BMW from Hurst Road, Reading were recovered.
