Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenage boy was arrested in connection with an incident in Stevenage.
Last Tuesday morning (24 September), police received a report that a knife had been seen during an altercation between a small group of males at the Old Town Charter Fair the previous evening.
No one was hurt during the incident and no property was reported as being stolen.
Fast time enquiries were carried out and a 15-year-old boy was arrested by officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team that afternoon, on suspicion of possession of a pointed or bladed article in a public place.
He has been released on bail while enquiries continue.
PC Peter Day, who is investigating, said: “We take reports of this nature very seriously and officers worked quickly to make an arrest.
“Our enquiries are continuing at this time and we are appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.
“The area was busy at the time, so it’s likely that a number of people saw what happened. If you can help, please get in touch.”
