Officers investigating a spate of vehicle crime in Welwyn Garden City are appealing for information, witnesses and CCTV.
The following offences were reported overnight on Wednesday (4 September) into Thursday (5 September):
PC Philip Jowett, from the Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. If you live or work nearby and have CCTV or dash cam please do check it and get in touch if it has captured anything helpful.
“Males were seen acting suspiciously in both Mill Green Road and the Premier Inn car park. Were you in the area? Did you see them? Please get in touch if so.
“If you can help, please email me at [email protected] quoting the relevant crime reference number.
“I would also like to remind motorists of steps they can take to help protect themselves from vehicle crime. Make sure to park in well-lit and busy areas and always lock your vehicle – even if you are just popping back in your home to get something. Never leave valuables in your vehicle. The cost of replacing a window is often much more than that of what’s stolen. If you have to leave tools in a van overnight, it's a good idea to mark them clearly with your name/company name and address using paint pens and seal with a clear lacquer spray. More advice can be found on our website."
