Detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit are re-appealing for witnesses and information a week on from a murder in Kings Langley.
Police were called to reports of a shooting in Railway Terrace at 12.33am on Tuesday 17 September.
On arrival, officers located a man with serious injuries and he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
The man can now be named as 30-year-old Mustapha Jatta.
At just after 12.45am, reports were received of a white Volkswagen Golf on fire in Furtherfield, Abbots Langley. Officers believe the incidents are linked.
Detective Inspector Dale Mepstead, from the Major Crime Unit, said: “It is now a week since Mustapha sadly lost his life, and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this very difficult time. We will continue to support them throughout this investigation.
“I’d like to thank the members of the public who have spoken to us and assisted with our enquiries. We are continuing to explore all lines of enquiry to understand the circumstances of what happened that evening.
“If there is anyone who may have witnessed or who has footage of the incident in Railway Terrace but is yet to speak to police, please come forward.
“It is believed that the white Volkswagen Golf located in Abbots Langley could be connected to the incident. Therefore, I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this vehicle in the surrounding areas prior to or after the incident to please contact us. If you have a dash cam fitted, I’d encourage you to please check your footage as you may have captured something that could assist with our investigation.
“If you have any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please do get in touch.”
