At just after 6.30pm officers were called to a collision involving a white Mitsubishi pick-up and a female pedestrian on the High Road. Sadly the woman sustained injuries that proved fatal at the scene.
A man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Sergeant Timothy Davies from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit said: “The woman’s family have been informed of the incident and are understandably devastated.
“We are working to establish the circumstances of what happened and would urge anyone who was in the area at the time to please make contact with via email with any information.
