Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Watford.
Police were contacted to report an incident which occurred in Market Street at around 9.20pm on Wednesday (5 February).
It is reported that a 17-year-old boy was cycling through the area when a group of approximately seven males approached him. One of the group reportedly stabbed the boy with what is believed to be a knife.
The victim attended hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Nothing was taken.
Detective Constable Tia McEwen-Mason, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “I appreciate this incident will cause concern among the local community. We’re doing all we can to establish the circumstances around what happened and trace those involved.
“As part our ongoing investigations, I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of this assault and may have witnessed something to please come forward.
“It is believed the suspects were wearing balaclavas and black clothing. Did you see this group in the area around the time?
“If you were driving through the area and have a dash cam fitted, please review your footage as you may have captured something that could assist with our investigation.”
