A man has been arrested and charged after a stolen van was traced to a car park in High Wych, less than an hour after it was taken.
The Vauxhall Vivaro was reported as stolen from the Broxbourne area at around 10.40am on Wednesday (19 February).
Officers from the Hertford Operational Support Group and local Operation Scorpion team began searching the area, after receiving information that the vehicle had travelled into East Herts. Colleagues from the Road Policing Unit were also on standby to assist.
The van was located and followed into a car parking area off High Wych Road.
The tracker had been removed and attempts had been made to alter the number plate.
Following a foot chase across a field, a man was arrested.
