A man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery which occurred in Buntingford last weekend.
It is alleged that cash was stolen from Budgens in Baldock Road, at around 12.30am on Saturday 8 February, after staff were threatened. No one was hurt during the incident.
Following an investigation by the East Herts Local Crime Unit, warrants were carried out at two addresses in the town on Friday morning (14 February), leading to the arrest of a man.
A firearm was also recovered during the operation.
Detective Sergeant Adam Haines said: “We’ve been following numerous lines of enquiry and, as a result, have been able to make an arrest and secure charges.
“Our investigations are continuing and if you have any information which may assist us, we’d urge you to please get in touch.”

Marc McAllister, aged 29, from Crouch Gardens in Buntingford, appeared before Hatfield Remand Court yesterday (Saturday 15 February), charged with robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
He was remanded into custody ahead of his next hearing at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 18 March.
