A second man has appeared in court today (Monday 24 February) in connection with an armed robbery in Buntingford.
It is alleged that cash was stolen from Budgens in Baldock Road, at around 12.30am on Saturday 8 February, after staff were threatened. No one was hurt during the incident.
Following an investigation by the East Herts Local Crime Unit a 29-year-old man was arrested on Friday 14 February and charged in connection with the incident. He has been remanded into custody.
Further enquiries led to a second man being arrested at an address in the town on Saturday (22 February).
Gary Farrow, aged 37, from Pegram Drive, has been charged with robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded into custody.
He is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 18 March.
Detective Sergeant Adam Haines said: “Two people have now been charged in connection with the incident following extensive enquiries by local officers and detectives.
“If you have any further information which may assist us as the case progresses, you can still report it.”
