Officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) were out and about in Shenley at the weekend, to provide reassurance and advice following recent burglaries in the area.
On Saturday (11 January), the team knocked on almost 100 doors to speak with residents and give out burglary prevention booklets, timer switches and signal blocking pouches for vehicle key fobs.
The following day, officers set up a stall outside Tesco Express where they spoke with further residents and shoppers to pass on advice and discuss any concerns.
Several people were also signed up to the Herts Connected community messaging system throughout the weekend, allowing them to keep up to date with what is happening in the local area. Users can set their preferences to receive police messages, as well as updates from Neighbourhood Watch, Action Fraud and the Police and Crime Commissioner.
PCSO Cheryll Lavell, who organised the events, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us over the weekend. Many residents expressed their gratitude, and we’re pleased the visits were helpful to them.
“Our proactive patrols and engagement events will continue, to enable us to pass on advice and help deter further offences.
“If you’d like any advice or information, you can find this on the crime prevention pages of our website. We’d also encourage people to sign up to Herts Connected.”
