A PCSO detained a man on suspicion of theft of a bike – after a lengthy chase over numerous fields and fences – and located a bike in Southdown in Harpenden just 15 minutes after it was stolen on Friday (17 January).
PCSO Bradley Flanagan from the Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted two men by the Elephant and Castle pub in Wheathampstead at 5pm who made off.
A 20-year-old man from Borehamwood was subsequently arrested on suspicion of theft of a bike and is on police bail.
A second bike was recovered, which had been abandoned. It was stolen from the University of Hertfordshire on 14 January.
