Police in East Herts have recovered a lorry and a trailer which were stolen earlier this week.
The equipment was taken from a farm situated on the A507 between Buntingford and Cottered, on Monday night (30 December).
Following enquiries, they were discovered parked up off the A414 near North Weald earlier today (Thursday 2 January).
A second trailer, carrying a large crusher machine (pictured below), was also stolen on the same night and enquiries are continuing to locate this, along with those responsible for taking it.
Sergeant David Miller from the East Herts Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) said: “Agricultural theft has a huge financial impact on our hardworking farmers and rural businesses.
“We’ve been carrying out enquiries and have managed to quickly locate the lorry and one of the trailers as a result. Work is now continuing to trace the second trailer and the crusher machine.
“If you think you may have seen this machine being transported anywhere since Monday, please contact us, especially if you have any dash cam footage. Thank you.”
He added: “Our proactive patrols continue and I’d like to take this opportunity to remind people to please remain vigilant while out and about in rural areas and report any suspicious activity to police. We’d rather attend and find that everything is in order, than miss an opportunity to catch a potential criminal in the act.”
