A woman has been arrested and charged with theft from a person after a purse was stolen from a woman in Marks and Spencer in Harpenden.
Elena Ivanov, age 46, of Wimborne Road in north London, was arrested by PC Iffy Iqbal at her home address on Sunday (19 January).
The theft happened at 1pm on Wednesday 8 January.
An unsuccessful attempt was then made to use the victim’s card at Nationwide. A second attempt was successful at Sainsburys where £250 was taken from the victims’ account.
Ivanov is on conditional bail not to enter Hertfordshire, except to attend court. She is due at St Albans Magistrates Court on 14 February.
