Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a series of incidents in which swans and ducks have been attacked in Cheshunt.
It has been reported that birds have been injured, and several swans killed, along the New River near to Whit Hern Park.
Sergeant Dan McNeill, of the Broxbourne Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I’d like to hear from anyone who has witnessed such an incident, or who has information about them, to get in touch.
“Acts of cruelty towards wildlife are not only deeply concerning, but are also criminal offences.
“If you can help, I can be contacted by email.”
Witnesses or anyone with information can also report it online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 611 of 12 March
Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
