Assistant Chief Constable Catherine Akehurst

Catherine took over as the Chief Officer lead for Strategy and Prevention in 2023, transferring in from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary. Catherine has previously served in Hertfordshire Constabulary in all ranks from PC to temporary Assistant Chief Constable. Her portfolio covers the Force Communications Room (FCR), Operations, Prevention, and Strategy, Performance and Transformation.

She is the Eastern Region chief officer lead for Prevention and the deputy chair of Hertfordshire’s Local Resilience Forum. Catherine is also the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) lead for Contact Management.
