How we support race and inclusion in Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Hertfordshire Constabulary fully supports the national Police Race Action Plan, which aims to create a police service that is anti-racist and trusted by Black people.
The national plan complements the work already taking place in Hertfordshire, a key a part of which is the creation of a Race and Inclusion Board. This board is made up of volunteers from the Black communities in the county. The board’s role is to track the constabulary’s progress on race and diversity and the national plan, as well as to observe and advise.
The constabulary is also working hard to encourage more people from Black and minority ethnic communities to apply for roles within the force, and we are seeing more and more applications coming through. Candidates can receive help at every stage of the application process, which has also been reviewed and amended to make it more user friendly.
