The Child Criminal Exploitation Prevention and Diversion Team are an engagement and prevention team for young people up to the age of 18 years old.
The team carry out one-to-one engagement work with young people from Hertfordshire. They provide an early intervention and preventative approach for those at risk of being drawn into gangs, criminal exploitation (county lines) and knife crime. Working closely with other policing teams and partner agencies to deliver a personalised response for each young person referred.
They also develop and deliver events and activities for young people, to educate them about the risks of knife crime, gang involvement and criminal exploitation, using the ‘Lives not Knives’ branding. The team regularly deliver presentations in schools and other educational establishments to help safeguard young people in Hertfordshire.
