We work with local organisations, including Future Living, to ensure officers are trained to spot the signs of domestic abuse and coercive and controlling behaviour and know where to signpost victims.
In partnership with Future Living, all frontline police officers are receiving additional training about domestic abuse. This includes hearing directly from survivors of abuse about their lived experiences.
Future Living CEO Emma Flemming said: "By sharing the lived experiences of those who have been affected by domestic abuse, we provide police officers with the tools to identify the, often hidden, signs of coercive control and abuse and help them to empathise and understand those they are supporting. We are proud to be working alongside Hertfordshire Constabulary to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse."
