Could you help us improve and implement our police response to violence against women and girls (VAWG)?
Whether you have lived experience or are passionate about helping us tackle VAWG, we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for women to join our VAWG Independent Advisory Group (IAG) which focuses on four Ps - preparation to tackling VAWG, prevention of VAWG, protection of those affected and pursuit of perpetrators.
The VAWG IAG is a safe space for women to speak openly and have challenging, constructive and reflective conversations, with an aim of influencing how Hertfordshire Constabulary deliver our service to the public.
All women – whether you have direct experience of VAWG or would like to improve our approach to tackling VAWG in Hertfordshire.
As a member of the Herts VAWG IAG group you will proactively contribute your thoughts and knowledge, along with lived experience if you would like to share, to help inform and constructively challenge the development and delivery of police services and training.
You will scrutinise police processes.
You will give and receive feedback to local communities.
Herts VAWG IAG meet quarterly in person or virtually. These meetings will be facilitated by Detective Sergeant Charlotte Slaney and lead by Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Gilbertson.
Members must sign a code of conduct and confidentiality agreement.
Members are volunteers, although expenses will be paid in line with force policy.
To apply to be involved fill out this form, or email to find out more.
