Our volunteers provide vital support to police officers and staff. Members of the public give generously of whatever time they can spare, to help keep their community safe. There are a range of roles that support the force, so our volunteers are a diverse team with a real mix of skills and interests.
Our police support volunteers (PSVs) are very important members of our policing family, supporting our policing effort and enhancing the services we provide to the public.
It is essential that public confidence in us is high. Our volunteers are a vital resource to help us with that, as their support enables us to engage with our communities more fully and assist us to deliver policing.

You could be retired and looking for an opportunity to give something back to the community, or to gain a different kind of life experience. These are not passive functions, but are crucial in helping us to deliver our policing business. Our volunteer opportunities are available at police headquarters in Welwyn Garden City and at most police stations across the county.
