Borehamwood and Elstree

The new priorities for May to August are as follows:
• Drug supply and related activity in Borehamwood
• Anti-social behaviour and crime committed by young people in Shenley Road

Residents will see their dedicated team of PCs and PCSOs working alongside partners to tackle the issues, through an increased police presence, engagement events and targeted enforcement.

Residents previously asked us to focus on the following issues:

Provide crime prevention and target hardening advice around burglary and thefts from motor vehicles, to help safeguard residents in the Borehamwood South area.

Tackle drug related criminality linked to addresses in the Borehamwood North area.

This is a trend we often see in the darker months and we've worked with Crime Prevention Officers to hold engagement events. Whilst offence levels were still low for the area, we were committed to tackling the wider problem. The engagement events gave us the chance to speak to residents about crime prevention advice and prevent crimes before they occur where possible.

Tackle drug related criminality linked to addresses in the Borehamwood North area...

Numerous arrests have been made in connection with this issue, with three people charged. Further safeguarding work is ongoing with several vulnerable residents protected or moved location to prevent further harm. We’ve also been working closely with local partners including housing providers to protect vulnerable people and catch criminals.
