As the Hertsmere Neighbourhood inspector I managed three neighbourhood teams covering Borehamwood/ Elstree , Potters Bar/Shenley and Bushey/ Radlett . My teams are responsible for longer term problem solving with our partners within our communities/ towns, engaging with our communities to build up trust and confidence and tackling neighbourhood crime. I also manage the community safety unit in Hertsmere which deals with ASB , Licensing matters and hate crime.
During our last survey people asked us to focus on the following:
Anti-social behaviour in the Darkes Lane area

Numerous banning letters from McDonalds have been issued and Community Resolutions issued for drug use.
We have been working with the local schools and businesses to identify young people causing issues and helping to divert them to a better path.

During our last survey people asked us to focus on the following:
Tackling burglaries across the area through enforcement and crime prevention engagement

Marked and unmarked patrols have also been taking place.
Officers and PCSOs have completed over 10 street meets and engagements. Whilst at each location they have spoken to residents one on one and given out crime prevention advice and crime prevention tools. They’ve also encouraged the residents to sign up to Herts connected.
