Two arrests have been made following a serious assault in Hitchin on Friday (26 June).
A man has been charged with arson and remanded in custody after a van fire on Hillbrow, Letchworth just before midnight on Wednesday (24 June).
Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) officers in Letchworth successfully identified two individuals involved in the illegal use of off-road motorcycles on public land, with the help of a forensic marking spray, following a targeted operation.
Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a man following an indecent exposure in Hitchin.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was assaulted in Letchworth Garden City.
The priorities for May to August are as follows:
• Speeding on Bedford Road (A600). The stretch of Bedford Road between Redhill Road and Turnpike Lane has been identified as a location of concern for speeding vehicles by the local community. We will be conducting speed enforcement activities in this location over the coming months.
• E-Scooters and E-Bikes in Hitchin Urban. Once again, this issue has been highlighted in the recent public consultation process. We will continue our efforts to address this issue.

Speeding on Bedford Road (A600) is being addressed through speed enforcement operations including engagement with motorists and enforcement action where offences were detected.
Patrols in the region include checking for illegal E-scooters and E-bikes. Riders have been stopped and provided education on current legislation with seizures where appropriate.
